Kate & Ty’s Engagement Session
Kate & Ty’s engagement session is a great example of what can happen when a couple is up for doing something a little differently and is motivated to help make it happen. We had talked about some fun and unique ideas for the engagement session, and once I had suggested that an old antique sofa would be perfect for the vision of the engagement shoot we all came to, they went out and hunted one down – they also secured a private field just for the shoot. Great wedding and engagement photography is said to be 50% the photographer and 50% the couple. Kate & Ty worked to bring the details of the shoot together and then were willing to have fun and let me bring the vision to completion in photos – it was fantastic and so so much fun! We loved the way the pictures turned out and had such a great day together. Thank you Kate and Ty for a great engagement session.

Heather & Matt Engagement
Vintage suitcases, an old abandoned drive in movie theater, Heather and Matt – a perfect combination for an unforgettable engagement shoot! Heather and Matt’s love of classic things, combined with their artistic edge, gave us a fantastic vision for their engagmeent shoot – and it came together so well. It was such a treat to see these two shine through in the photos and to get to know them a little better. Congratulations on your engagement Heather and Matt – cant wait for your wedding day!

Ryan & Josh’s Engagement
Had a great shoot with Ryan and Josh as we explored Point Defiance Park in Tacoma, WA. Their wedding is going to be in the fall and so we definitely wanted to get out in the warm sun for their engagement shoot and enjoy that soft golden evening summer light. I enjoyed their sense of humor and willingness to just play around in front of the camera and venture around the park. Looking forward to their wedding and the fun contrast it will have to the engagement shoot in temperature and look. We have such great couples!

Mattice & Christopher’s Engagemnet
Mattice and Christopher have one of the most romantic first meeting stories I’ve heard in a long time. Christopher had been seriously wounded in action overseas – after the shrapnel was removed and he had undergone his surgeries, he returned to the United States. And, while in the airport waiting on his luggage, he noticed a woman singing and dancing and full of life – and he decided he had to meet her. He walked over, introduced himself and the rest is history! Their personalities couldn’t be more perfectly fit to one another – both full of life and energy and both not afraid to be goofy and have fun, without shame or embarrassment - they love and enjoy one another. But they will wrestle over who gets the first bite of their cupcakes

Jason & Hannah Engagement Session
It can be a bit scary to do pictures for other photographers – knowing they have a different eye for composition and settings – and with both Jason and Hannah both having backgrounds in photography, I was a bit nervous when we met to do their engagement pictures. It only took moments to realize that these two were just as excited to do their pictures as I was and that the time wouldn’t be scary, but rather a whole lot of fun! We played with some of their vintage items they brought for the shoot and wandered around the downtown area of Tacoma finding fun spots and enjoying the evening light. Thanks for a great shoot you two!

Sarah & Robert’s Engagement
Sarah and Robert managed to luck out with having their engagement session on one of the few nice days we’ve had this year. We spent the early morning milling around Green Lake in Seattle and thoroughly enjoyed not being cold or wet for a few hours. I love the way Sarah and Robert are looking at one another and interacting in these first few pictures – where you can see how much they adore each other and you can see the playfulness that came out during the shoot. A great shoot with a great couple.

Karen & Jean’s Engagement
Mix some fun lovin with a little punk rock with a little art with a whole lot of love and you get Karen and Jean! We met up near Pioneer Square in Seattle and as soon as I sat down at the table with them, I knew we were going to have fun. We played around and enjoyed each other’s company for an afternoon and it was definitely time well spent. Here are a couple shots from the time – enjoy!
