A close friend of ours, Diane – AKA “the Norwegian Nightmare,” invited us to come and watch her play and do some photography at a Dockyard Derby Bout. We had never been to a Roller Derby before and we’ve done very little sport photography before – but the opportunity to support our friend and do a new type of photography seemed like a great way to spend a Saturday evening. Unfortunately, Diane got sick before the bout and had to give up her spot – but she still came and hung out with us as we cheered on her team and captured some great moments during the bout. It was a packed house complete with hundreds of screaming fans, costumed enthusiasts and a beer garden. Her team, the “Trampires” literally crushed the other team and are moving onto the finals. The entire evening was a blast and we thought we’d share a few of the images from it.
